Child Support Sessions

What are Child Support Sessions?

We offer continued support in the form of single or ongoing 50-minute sessions with our Lead Psychologist, Dr Tamasine Black, or one of our clinical psychologist team. These are most usually in person sessions at our clinic with Dr Tamasine Black, unless an online call is preferable.

These support sessions an evidence-based therapeutic- approach for children and young people, and using play-based and visual approaches, these help children and young people to understand how to manage ADHD and autism. These are charged individually at £120 per 50 minute session.

These sessions are available to any child who has worked with us. Slots for these sessions are continuously available, so there is no wait list.

What does it cover?

What to expect from the session - important information

What to Expect from Child Support Sessions
These sessions are designed to offer therapeutic or emotional support for your child in a safe, nurturing space. To help your child get the most from these sessions, please take a moment to read the following important information:

  1. Please arrive on time
Sessions are scheduled carefully, and late arrivals can disrupt your child’s experience and impact the session’s effectiveness, as well as the time we are able to give.
  2. Sessions are for your child
These sessions are individual, one-to-one spaces for your child. While we value parental insight and collaboration, we ask that parents or carers do not remain in the room during the session (unless previously agreed).
  3. Speak positively in front of your child
Children are deeply affected by how others speak about them. We kindly ask that you avoid discussing concerns or difficulties in front of your child. If you need to share sensitive information, please arrange a separate time to speak with us privately. Please email us in advance if you feel there is a specific issue we could consider when working with your child.
  4. Feedback is not routinely provided at the end of each session
To protect your child’s privacy and help them feel safe, we do not provide a verbal summary after each session. However, we are happy to offer a short written update following a series of sessions (typically after three) to share general themes and progress. This summary will usually be sent within approximately 5 working days of the third session.
  5. Confidentiality and trust
The therapeutic relationship relies on trust. While safeguarding concerns will always be shared with parents and relevant professionals, day-to-day content from the sessions is kept confidential unless your child requests otherwise.
