SEND Parent Consultancy

Calm, Expert Support for Parents Navigating SEND

At Tabla Psychology, we are delighted to offer SEND Parent Consultancy sessions with Victoria Kennedy. This service is available to parents who would benefit from clear, knowledgeable and compassionate guidance when navigating SEND systems, processes and next steps.

Parents consistently tell us that Victoria is exceptionally supportiveincredibly knowledgeable, and brilliant at making sense of complex SEND processes. Many describe her as someone who helps them feel calmer, clearer, and far more confident about what to do next.

Victoria works with Tabla Psychology in a short‑term consultancy capacity, offering focused parent sessions designed to provide clarity, reassurance and direction at key points in a family’s SEND journey.

Why Parents Value Working with Victoria

Parents often describe Victoria as:

  • Warm, calm and reassuring
  • Extremely knowledgeable about SEND systems and processes
  • Brilliant at explaining complex information in plain English
  • Practical, organised and realistic
  • Someone who truly understands the pressures families are under

Families frequently tell us that after a session with Victoria they feel:

  • Less overwhelmed
  • Clearer about their options and next steps
  • More confident speaking with schools and professionals
  • Better organised and prepared
  • Reassured that they are approaching things thoughtfully and appropriately

What SEND Parent Consultancy Can Help With

SEND Parent Consultancy is a parent‑focused, non‑clinical consultation service. Sessions may help parents to:

  • Understand SEND systems, terminology and pathways
  • Make sense of reports, letters and paperwork
  • Understand EHCP processes, reviews and decision‑making
  • Clarify what schools and local authorities can and cannot do
  • Think through next steps following assessment or diagnosis
  • Prepare for meetings or conversations with schools
  • Organise information and priorities

The focus is on helping parents feel informed, confident and supported — not rushed or pressured.

How Victoria Works

Victoria’s approach is calm, thoughtful and highly practical. Sessions are collaborative and consultative, giving parents space to talk things through, ask questions, and gain a clearer understanding of their situation.

She supports parents to understand what is realistic, proportionate and possible within SEND systems, helping them to make informed decisions that feel right for their family.

Sessions are designed to empower parents, rather than direct or escalate situations.

Clear and Important Boundaries

SEND Parent Consultancy is offered on a short‑term basis, usually as a one‑off session or a small number of focused sessions.

It is important to note that this service:

  • Is non‑clinical and non‑therapeutic
  • Does not involve diagnosis or clinical opinion
  • Does not include legal representation or tribunal preparation
  • Does not involve acting on behalf of parents

Victoria has an independent SEND consultancy and tribunal‑support business, which operates entirely separately from Tabla Psychology. There is no dual involvement on the same case once tribunal or expert work begins. This clear separation ensures transparency, independence and ethical integrity.

How This Fits with Tabla Psychology

SEND Parent Consultancy sits alongside our psychology‑led assessments and post‑diagnostic work. It does not influence clinical opinions, diagnoses or reports.

All clinical work at Tabla Psychology is carried out independently by HCPC‑registered psychologists. Victoria’s role is to support parents in understanding processes and options, helping families turn assessment outcomes into clarity and confidence about next steps.

Sending your child to a Psychologist can be a daunting process for both child and parents. Dr Black and her team were extremely considerate of our needs and spoke to us and our daughter in easy to understand language, putting us all at ease in a professional, considerate, sympathetic and non-judgemental way. Thank you to Tamasine and the team at Tabla Psychology for making our experience comfortable and worthwhile.

Mrs & Mr P

Many thanks again to Tammy for the session with Jemma. She absolutely loved the time she had with both Tammy and Freddie.

Mrs SJemma's parent

Very pleased with the ADHD service received from Tabla overall, most importantly my child felt very comfortable and at ease throughout.

Ms M

I can confirm grateful receipt of the ADHD report for Olivia. I am most impressed with the report and incredibly appreciative of the care and attention to detail that has gone into its preparation and completion.. Dr. Black has very much captured the essence of her, and we feel that the recommendations she has made for Olivia regarding her schooling, are accurate and extremely helpful.
