Practical, relationship-based help for parents of primary-aged children
Calm, connected support when parenting feels hard
Some children experience the world in a way that makes ordinary tasks incredibly challenging — leaving the house, managing bedtime, coping with school, or even getting through a family meal. For many families, traditional parenting advice just doesn’t work. That’s where our Parent Outreach Support can help.
This service is led by Nikki Hammal, our dedicated Parent Worker, who supports families with primary-aged children (typically Reception to Year 6) who are:
- Anxious, avoidant, or emotionally dysregulated
- Prone to shutdowns, meltdowns, or running away
- Struggling with transitions at home or school
Nikki brings a calm, relational, neuroaffirming approach to every visit. She works alongside parents, helping you build practical strategies that reduce overwhelm — for both you and your child.
What does outreach support involve?
- In-home or in-clinic sessions, with observation of key routines
- Support with daily transitions, regulation strategies, and behaviour planning
- Use of visual supports, Now and Next boards, PECS, deep pressure, sensory tools, and timers
- Parent-only sessions to problem-solve and explore your child’s profile
- PDA-informed, low-demand coaching tailored to your family
- Support building consistent approaches between home and school
Whether your child is autistic, has ADHD, struggles with interoception or sensory needs, or just doesn’t fit the typical mould — Nikki’s job is to understand, not to judge.
Who is this for?
- Parents of children in Reception to Year 6 (including developmentally younger children)
- Families navigating neurodivergence, anxiety, or extreme demand avoidance
- Children at risk of school refusal, exclusion, or parent-child breakdown
- Parents who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or burnt out
- Families looking for relational, practical strategies that actually work
- Outreach is to parents homes within a 10 mile radius of our office. Nikki can visit homes reaching out to Winchester, Alton, Petersfield, Chichester, Portsmouth and Southampton.
Nikki also supports schools, working with staff to better understand the child’s needs and adapt expectations in line with a neurodevelopmental profile.
Why our approach is different
We don’t use generic reward charts or behaviourist systems. Our support is individualised, neuroaffirming, and grounded in psychological theory. We look beneath the behaviour and help you build trust, predictability, and calm — even when things feel chaotic.
How to get started
Parent Outreach Support is available on a limited basis in Hampshire and surrounding areas. Sessions are available to existing families and are priced at £70 per session. These are available as home visits or in clinic.
