Pre-Assessment

What is a Pre-assessment?

A pre-assessment is a combination of video call consultation (for children and teens, this is parents only) and screening questionairres.  It’s a great way of supporting which way to proceed with which assessment.

What happens during the pre-assessment?

Once you have booked in with us, we will send out a range of checklists and questionnaires for yourselves, your child if it is for them, and a third party such as school or relative.

A consultation is then offered via video call (for child or teen assessments, this is for parents only) to discuss the results of these screeners and to discuss ways forward, as well as practical strategies for support.

The cost for the pre-assessment is £350.

What happens after the pre-assessment?

Should you wish to pursue a full assessment, we will offer you a fast-tracked appointment route.

Should you wish to engage in continued psychoeducation in the form of single or ongoing 50-minute in-person sessions, these are charged separately at £120 per session.

How much does it cost?

The Pre-assessment is £350.

How do I book an assessment?

What we cannot help with

As we are not a crisis service, we are unfortunately unable to offer assessment of mental illnesses including bipolar disorder, psychosis, an established eating disorder or in cases where there is extensive self-harm or suicidal ideation.

Who should I speak to in case of an emergency?

We are not a mental health crisis service so if you have immediate concerns about either your own or your child’s wellbeing, please contact the emergency services, your local Adult Mental Health Crisis Team or your local NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service crisis telephone line.
