Therapeutic parenting support is salutation focused and non-judgemental. During sessions, we draw on NVR (Non Violent Resistant) approaches to parenting as well as providing coping strategies, techniques and counselling to support parents.

How this can help
Therapeutic parental support sessions can help you to:
- Overcome feelings of helplessness and find workable, practical solutions to improve home life
- Improve relationships between family members
- Have greater understanding about what your child is trying to communicate through their behaviours
How much does it cost?
Due to the bespoke nature of our services, prices are available on request.
We offer blocks of 6 sessions at a time.
Therapeutic Parental Support FAQ
What is Therapeutic Parental Support for?
Our unique approach is both pragmatic and integrative with a range of evidence based positive parenting practices. Parenting can be extremely challenging at times and parenting children with neurodiversity or trauma can mean that an adapted approach is helpful. We support parents to overcome feelings of helplessness and find workable, practical solutions to improve home life, relationships between family members and to help gain a greater understanding about what your child is trying to communicate through their behaviours.
Who carries out this therapy?
Dr. Tamasine Black (Lead Educational and Child Psychologist) carries out these sessions. Tamasine has additional training in positive parenting programmes (Triple P, NVR, The Incredible Years, Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities).
All members of our team are registered with their professional bodies with enhanced DBS checks.
Is there any follow up support?
We are happy to offer one off sessions, or longer series of sessions, as required.
What other professional support is available?
As we work as part of a team made up of professionals in educational psychology, clinical psychology, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy, we are able to offer support for any further needs. This includes autism, mental health, speech and language, and sensory motor needs as well as ongoing interventions and therapies with children and parents.
What if I am interested in several of your services?
We are happy to combine any of our services.
What we cannot help with
As we are not a crisis service, we are unfortunately unable to offer assessment of mental illnesses including bipolar disorder, psychosis, an established eating disorder or in cases where there is extensive self-harm or suicidal ideation.
Who should I speak to in case of an emergency?
We are not a mental health crisis service so if you have immediate concerns about your child or young person’s wellbeing, please contact the emergency services or your local NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service crisis telephone line.
