Comprehensive Pre-Screening

Our Comprehensive Pre-Screening is a detailed, clinician-led screening process designed to clarify a child or young person’s needs and determine the most appropriate next steps.

This service is for families who want a thorough, evidence-informed review before deciding whether to proceed with a full assessment.

Who is this for?

Comprehensive Pre-Screening may be helpful if you are:

  • unsure whether concerns relate to Autism, ADHD, learning needs, emotional wellbeing, regulation, sensory processing, or a combination of factors
  • wanting to understand patterns of strengths and difficulties across home and school
  • deciding which assessment pathway (if any) would be most appropriate
  • seeking clear, professional guidance without immediately committing to a full assessment

What does Comprehensive Pre-Screening involve?

Following booking, you will be sent a comprehensive screening pack, which may include:

  • parent and carer screening questionnaires
  • school questionnaires (where appropriate)
  • learning and cognition screeners
  • attention, regulation and executive-function screeners
  • emotional wellbeing and anxiety screeners
  • sensory processing and motor coordination screeners

All screening measures are scored and analysed by a clinician, with patterns considered across settings.

What you will receive

You will receive a detailed written Pre-Screening Report, which will:

  • summarise the information reviewed
  • describe key strengths and areas of need
  • identify patterns across learning, attention, regulation, sensory processing and emotional wellbeing
  • explain whether further assessment is recommended, and which pathway may be most appropriate (for example, Autism, ADHD, Educational Psychology, or targeted support)
  • provide clear, practical next-step recommendations

Where helpful, a brief follow-up call may be offered to clarify findings and recommendations.

What this service does not provide

  • Comprehensive Pre-Screening does not result in a diagnosis
  • It does not replace a full diagnostic or Educational Psychology assessment
  • It is intended to guide decision-making and next steps, not to provide statutory or legal conclusions

Why we offer Comprehensive Pre-Screening

Children’s needs are often complex and overlapping. A Comprehensive Pre-Screening allows us to take a careful, proportionate and child-centred approach, ensuring that any further assessment is appropriate, necessary and well-targeted.

Very pleased with the ADHD service received from Tabla overall, most importantly my child felt very comfortable and at ease throughout.

Ms M

I can confirm grateful receipt of the ADHD report for Olivia. I am most impressed with the report and incredibly appreciative of the care and attention to detail that has gone into its preparation and completion.. Dr. Black has very much captured the essence of her, and we feel that the recommendations she has made for Olivia regarding her schooling, are accurate and extremely helpful.
